<Title>Call for Applications: Make Your Research Come Alive (myRCA), A New UMBC Faculty Collaboratory</Title>

    <p><span>Applications are now open for “Make Your Research Come Alive” (myRCA), a new faculty collaboratory designed for faculty who are committed to advancing and amplifying the visibility, reach, impact, and funding potential of their research, scholarship, and creative activity.</span></p>
    <p><span>This 7-month program will bring together a cross-disciplinary cohort of UMBC faculty to:</span></p>
    <ul>
    <li><span>Develop skills in research impact storytelling, visualization, and advocacy to reach stakeholders and the public </span></li>
    <li><span>Create compelling pitches and broader impact narratives tailored to foundations, corporations, and donors</span></li>
    <li><span>Share best practices and learn from each other in a supportive, cross-disciplinary cohort model</span></li>
    </ul>
    <span>The program will run from November 2025 through May 2026 and will include: a kickoff meeting; twice-monthly, 60 to 90-minute sessions for hands-on workshops, trainings, consultations, and events; a mini-retreat in January; and a final showcase in May.</span><span><br></span><p><span>Participants must be PI eligible at UMBC. Up to $500 in research funds will be awarded per participant.</span><span><br></span></p>
    <p><span>Applications are due October 20, 2025.</span><span><br></span></p>

This is a great opportunity for seniors and Masters students with coursework in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science.     <p><strong>Duties</strong></p>
    <p>In this role, you will gain real-world experience by working alongside PhD economists to protect consumers and promote competition in the US economy. Statisticians work with economists to support FTC matters, including:</p>
    <p>o   providing economic and statistical analysis in support of antitrust and consumer protection investigations and litigations.  </p>
    <p>o   conducting academic research and developing reports on the functioning of markets in the economy</p>
