AFRICANA STUDIES PROFESSOR TO EULOGIZE AT UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY 

Adjunct Professor Kwame Ansah-Brew of Africana Studies Department has been invited to eulogize the late UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan at the Special Commemorative Plenary Session in honor of the Seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations on September 21 st, 2018. He will offer the eulogy by performing it on an indigenous Ghanaian flute and on Akan talking drums. The text of the eulogy will be translated from Akan into the official languages of the UN. 

Professor Ansah-Brew has been an Adjunct Professor in Africana Studies since 2003 giving instruction in African Dances, Drumming, String Instruments, Horns, etc. and on Comparative African Religions. 
He is the Founder and President of the Performing Arts Center for African Cultures located in Laurel, Maryland.

Thanks to all our members, old and new, for visiting us at Involvement Fest! We had a total of 95 sign-ups, almost a third of which were freshmen/sophomores and another third that majored in a field other than Information Systems. This kind of variety is just what we need as we continue to increase and diversify our events throughout the semester.

Speaking of events, Health IT Week starts next Monday, Sept.17th! Kickoff the Week with us during our Monday Crash Course featuring Ron Rock, Chief Technology Officer of basys. Mr. Rock will be speak on his experience in the Health IT industry and help identify for attendees the skill sets to focus on for success in the field.

This weekend there is a PeopleSoft Campus Solutions update (bundle) that is scheduled to be implemented.  Quarterly testing is done by various offices on campus to ensure that before applying a bundle to the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions' production environment, the system performs the same if not better than before the update.

One difference after this update is applied is that one will notice a slight change in the interface.  Please see the attachment below for an example of the change.  Users should experience the same functionality with using PeopleSoft as before the bundle is applied.
