A message from the UMBC Police

On Thursday May 24^th for the first time in 20 years UMBC will hold spring commencement for undergraduate students on our campus at the new Event Center. Extensive planning has taken place for this special day with many departments and stakeholders. 

Two commencements will take place that day, one beginning at 10:00 a.m. and a second one beginning at 4:00 p.m.  We are expecting extremely heavy traffic between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m coming onto campus and then from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. exiting campus.  For the second commencement expect heavy traffic between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. coming onto campus and then from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. exiting campus.  Please avoid travelling to and from campus during these hours and/or use alternative entrances and exits to campus (see below).   Alternative work arrangements or schedules may be offered to employees at the discretion of the supervisor in order to avoid high traffic periods.  All campus offices will remain open and services will continue to be offered.

FROM POINTS WEST

Take 695 east to MD-372 Wilkins Avenue (exit 12C-B).  Continue on Wilkins Avenue to a left on Walker Avenue then left on Hilltop Circle.

FROM POINTS NORTH

Take 95 South to 695 West.  Exit at MD-372 Wilkins Avenue (exit 12C-B).  Continue on Wilkins Avenue to a left on Walker Avenue then left on Hilltop Circle.

FROM POINTS EAST

Take 695 West.  Exit at MD-372 Wilkins Avenue (exit 12C-B).  Continue on Wilkins Avenue to a left on Walker Avenue then left on Hilltop Circle. 

FROM POINTS SOUTH

Take 95 North to 195 West towards UMBC.  If UMBC Boulevard is backed up stay to your left towards the park and ride and North Rolling Road.  Make a right at North Rolling Road and then a right onto Wilkins Avenue.  At roundabout make a right onto Hilltop Road.

Job Summary: The Manager of Box Office and Marketing is responsible for overseeing ticket sales and marketing for the Symphony’s concerts and events. You will ensure prompt, courteous, and professional services to all Symphony customers and patrons while generating excitement and “buzz” in the community by executing and influencing the Symphony’s marketing plan.

GBCA

The Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance (GBCA) nurtures and promotes a vibrant, diverse, and sustainable arts and cultural community, essential to the region’s quality of life. GBCA supports the needs of more than 400 members from the Baltimore region (Baltimore City and the five surrounding counties) including arts, culture, history, and heritage organizations, as well as individual artists. GBCA requires a strong infrastructure to steward its members and to manage programs and initiatives.
