We have one spot available in the master bedroom of a 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment at Caton House Apartments in Catonsville. You would be sharing the master bedroom with one other person. The apartment is fully furnished with a sofa, oven, refrigerator, and microwave. It has central AC and heating, and it’s just a 2-minute walk to the UMBC bus stop, a gas station, and a 5-minute walk to Frederick Road.
The current lease runs through August, with the option to renew for another year. We’re looking for someone who can move in before the end of June.

CSEE Professor E. F. Charles (Chuck) LaBerge, Ph.D. ’03, electrical engineering, was honored as the UMBC Presidential Teaching Professor for the three-year period 2025 – 2028. Watch Dr. LaBerge receive the award from UMBC President Valerie Sheares Ashby here.
Dr. LaBerge has served as a professor of the practice of computer science and electrical engineering for 15 years at UMBC. Prior to that, he served as a lecturer and adjunct assistant professor for several years. He has served in a variety of engineering roles in the aerospace research and technology organizations of Honeywell and its predecessor companies for more than three decades before joining UMBC. LaBerge’s teaching ranges from Introduction to Engineering to graduate electrical engineering courses. Since 2010, he has taught the two-semester capstone course for computer engineers and, more recently, as a multidisciplinary offering for selected students in mechanical engineering and computer science as well. LaBerge has previously been recognized for teaching excellence at the college and USM levels and, in 2023, received the Outstanding Faculty Award by the UMBC Alumni Association.
Presidential Teaching and Research Professors, named annually to three-year appointments, are nominated by administrative and academic departments. They are honored for their professional accomplishments, dedication to the fulfillment of the university’s mission, and service to the university. In the first year of their appointments, the Presidential Teaching and Research Professors serve as marshals, leading the student and faculty processions at Convocation and Commencement.
