Discussion of Agenda- what we have done to this point and preparing for next month.

Discussing how to become Officers for the next semester, several members present are interested in becoming members, to fill in for the half semester when I and Mo will be absent and for next year.

Are there any bulk orders for graduation items so we can get discounts? – or is this something we can set up for those of us graduating?

·          Introduction

o    Officers should introduce themselves.

§  Name, Position, Year, Major, and an interesting fact!

o    GB introduction

§  Name, Year, and when you joined SAL

·          What is SAL and what are we about?

§  Honors and Service

·          Becoming an Official member

·          Attending Meetings

o    Meetings are bi-weekly. We will send out emails to remind you so include your email on sign in sheet.

o    Add us on myUMBC.

o    Brenden explain point system

o    AT THIS POINT, PASS OUT A SIGN IN SHEET WITH NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, YEAR, AND MEMBER (OR NOT).

·          Planned events for the year

o    1 social event and at least 1 volunteer event a month

                                    (Maryland Food Bank) -

                                    Date: September 28th (The date that we are aiming for) if not then the 5th of October

                                    Time: TBA

Brenden will coordinate the rides where we will agree to carpool to the volunteer site

·          Volunteering Opportunities – Ask if anyone wants to suggest a volunteer group opportunity ?

o    Volunteering Forms. Will be uploaded on the FB page and the myUMBC page.

o    Since we are about honor and service, we would like to have at least two volunteering opportunities you can partake in, we will share this with you at meetings. We will start this week.

§  American Red Cross Greater Chesapeake & Potomac Blood Region

·          Occupation: Greeter.

·          Description: Working with people in for Montgomery Chapter House Blood Drives.

·          Time availability: Flexible hrs and days

o    Orientation or Training 1 or 2 times a month.

·          Skills: people with some experience with customer service

·          Arundel House of Hope, Day Resource Center

·          Providing hospitality for homeless men and women over the age of 18

·          Need volunteers monthly

·          Skills – Individuals who are good with working with people.

The first BlendConf happened in Charlotte back in September, and a Treehouse video team was there to capture the talks. We’re excited to share so many amazing speakers (more than 25 talks and 18 hours of video) sharing about user experience, design, and web development development.
