Dr. Jason Loviglio, MCS, Publishes Book "Radio's New Wave: Global Sound in the Digital Era" Jason Loviglio, Director of the Media and Communication Studies Program, is co-editor with Michele Hilmes of the new book "Radio's New Wave: Global Sound in the Digital Era" (Routledge, 2013).

The book website notes, "Radio’s New Wave explores the evolution of audio media and sound scholarship in the digital age. Extending and updating the focus of their widely acclaimed 2001 book The Radio Reader, Hilmes and Loviglio gather together innovative work by both established and rising scholars to explore the ways that radio has transformed in the digital environment. Contributors explore what sound looks like on screens, how digital listening moves us, new forms of sonic expression, radio’s convergence with mobile media, and the creative activities of old and new audiences. Even radio’s history has been altered by research made possible by digital and global convergence. Tell Me

To upload a file via email, you will first need to enable a folder in your account to accept these uploads. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. From within your account, click into the folder you would like to upload files to
  2. Click on “Folder Options”, hover your mouse over “Upload to this Folder”, and select “Email Files to this Folder”

  3. A pop-up window will appear with the “Email Options” tab preselected
  4. Check the box next to “Allow uploads to this folder via email”.  This will create a unique email address for the folder you have selected

  5. To upload the files via email, simply attach the desired file(s) to an email and send it to this folder-specific email address. Once the email is sent, you will receive confirmation that your attachment(s) successfully made it up to Box. 
    • If you would like to restrict uploads to only folder collaborators, check the box under the unique email address.
    • Upload via email only works for file attachments, the body of the email will not be uploaded to Box.
    • For convenience access, add the folder-specific email address to your contact list in your email client.
    • The cumulative size of the attachments cannot exceed 80MB.
