<Title>Fall Co-op for Mechanical Engineers</Title>

    <div class="html-content">Are you looking for a great engineering opportunity with a local company for this semester?<br>
    <br>
    Key Tech is seeking an independent and self-motivated Mechanical 
    Engineering student for a Fall 2012 Co-op position. Hands-on experience 
    with product design, prototyping, and testing will be the focus of 
    day-to-day activities at Key Tech.  All candidates are expected to work 
    with other engineers in a team-oriented environment.  All candidates 
    must be well spoken, personable, and have a strong command of 
    engineering mathematics and fundamentals.<br>
    
    <br>
    Desired course work includes (but not limited to) fluids, CAD design, 
    materials and manufacturing, and/or other equivalent course work.<br>
    <br>
    Job Qualifications<br>
    •       Currently enrolled and rank in top quarter of class in 
    Mechanical Engineering from a leading University/College with a minimum 
    of 3.5 GPA<br>
    •       Junior or Senior status<br>
    •       Possess strong analytical skills<br>
    •       Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills<br>
    <br>
    Key Tech is a product development company located in the heart of the 
    Federal Hill area of Baltimore, Maryland. Our office is in a restored 
    Vaudeville theatre within walking distance from the Inner Harbor, Camden
     Yards and more. We specialize in developing high tech, 
    electromechanical, embedded products for our clients in commercial, 
    medical and industrial markets. Past projects include microfluidic DNA 
    analyzer, handheld blood counter, thermal imaging camera, high precision
     flow meter, portable water colorimeter, laser steering systems, 
    industrial slurry controller, and climate controlled pet carrier. We 
    seek out technically challenging work that is fun--we love our jobs!<br>

    Full-time work is desired, but students available 20 hours/week or more part-time will be considered.<br>

    <p>Four UMBC alums competed in Major League Lacrosse’s Championship Weekend, held at Harvard University Stadium in Boston, Mass.</p>
    <p>Attackman <strong>Drew Westervelt ’09</strong>, economics, is a member of the 2012 champion Chesapeake Bayhawks, while <strong>Brendan Mundorf ’06</strong>, sociology, <strong>Peet Poillon ’10</strong>, INDS, and <strong>Terry Kimener ’09</strong>, American studies, competed for the runner-up Denver Outlaws. All four former Retrievers finished the 2012 season ranked in the top-20 in the MLL scoring race.</p>
    <p>Westervelt played for the Denver squad in his first five years in the league. A Third Team All-American for UMBC in 2007, the Bel Air, Md. native tied for 20<sup>th</sup> in the league with 33 points and has 209 points (134-69-209) in his six years in MLL.</p>
    <p>Mundorf was named 2012 Bud Light MLL Season Most Valuable Player just prior to the championship weekend. He also was named to his second All-MLL Team (2009, 2012) as the attackman finished second in the league with 59 points (32-27-59). Denver’s all-time leading scorer has 206 goals, 100 assists and 306 total points in seven league seasons.</p>
    <p>The Mount St. Joseph graduate earned America East Player of the Year honors and All-America citations in 2005 and 2006. He suffered an ankle injury in practice on Friday, did not play in the semifinal victory over Long Island and scored a goal in limited action on Sunday vs. Denver.</p>
    <p>Westervelt and Mundorf both represented the victorious United States squad in the 2010 FIL World Championships.</p>
    <p>Poillon scored three goals in the Outlaws’ come-from-behind victory over the Lizards, including the game-tying goal early in the fourth quarter. The sharp-shooting midfielder tied for ninth in scoring in 2012 with 40 points (24-13-40) and surpassed the 100-point plateau (75-32-113) in his fifth MLL season in 2012.</p>
    <p>The Cranberry Township, Pa. native was a Second Team All-American for UMBC in 2009.</p>

    <div class="html-content">Strategic Victory Consulting is seeking two interns for this coming fall semester. SVC is a political fundraising group based in Baltimore (near BWI). If you get excited about state politics, have an interest in learning more, or would just like to be involved in the 2012 election in a unique way, this is the job for you. We have both state-wide as well as local clients. These unpaid positions will give you great networking opportunities with countless Maryland politicians and business people in multiple fields as well as experience in your own field of interest. SVC is fun, friendly, and flexible so be prepared to enjoy this internship! To learn more, you can check us out on Facebook. Descriptions of the two positions are as follows:<br><br>1. Graphics Intern: We need an intern who is familiar with Adobe platforms (indesign, photoshop, etc.) who is willing to work 8-15 hours a week. You will be responsible for developing quality work including flyers, invitations, business cards, etc., sometimes in a short amount of time. Knowledge of the Wordpress platform is preferred but not required. Some training is available.<br><br>2. Communications Intern: We need an intern who is able to draft fundraising letters, emails, phone calls, content development, and the occasional blog post. Some knowledge of the Wordpress platform is preferred but not required. 8-15 hours of office time is required and can be flexible with your schedule.
