Jay Greene Returns to UMBC Basketball, Joins Staff as Assistant Coach
Jay Greene, one of the most successful and popular players in UMBC basketball history, has returned to his alma mater as an assistant men’s basketball coach, Head Coach Randy Monroe announced today. Theodore Gonzalves, associate professor of American Studies, is the co-author, with Roderick N. Labrador, of the new book Filipinos in Hawaii. This pictorial history is the latest volume in the “Images of America” series by Arcadia Publishing. Nearly one in four persons in Hawaii is of Filipino heritage. Representing one-fifth of the state’s workforce, Filipinos have been in Hawaii for more than a century. Black Friday was first acknowledged back in 1966 when the Philadelphia Police
Department noticed a significant increase in both pedestrian and vehicle
traffic in the shopping districts of the city. It was given the name “Black
Friday” to indicate a time when retailers typically turn a serious profit,
moving from the red to the black. As most Americans have the day after
Thanksgiving off, Black Friday is known as the busiest shopping day of the
year.
So
if you dare to stay up all night and fight the crowds to find the best deals,
you could really save big this Black Friday. Here are some websites I found
