The University System of Maryland and UMBC are requiring students, faculty, and staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before the start of the fall semester. This requirement applies to all faculty—including adjunct faculty—that will teach on a physical campus, including all UMBC operated property such as the Columbus Center, the Lions Brothers Building, and the Universities at Shady Grove.
Based on anonymous information from the state health information exchange, we know that more than 80% of our faculty and staff are at least partially vaccinated. However, considerably smaller numbers of adjunct and part-time faculty have submitted and verified their vaccine information. Increasing the number of documented vaccines is essential for our fall safety planning. If you have not already done so, please report your vaccination ASAP. You can check your status and get more information on your COVID Compliance Card in your myUMBC profile.
