The Department of American Studies congratulates Professor Michelle Stefano on her new position. Dr. Stefano starts in October as the Folklife Specialist in Research and Programs at the Library of Congress' American Folklife Center. It's one of the top positions for a folklorist in the U.S. While we will certainly miss Michelle in the department and at UMBC, we know she will make big things happen in our nation's capitol!
