ASCSA Excavation Programs, Summer 2027
The ASCSA is offering three excavation programs for summer 2027:
Agora Excavation Summer Volunteer ProgramApply by December 7, 2026The program allows students to excavate in the Athenian Agora, in the heart of modern Athens. The excavations are planned for six weeks, June 14-July 23, 2027. Fieldwork is in progress Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a 30-minute break at midmorning; some post-excavation duties will run until 5 p.m. Volunteers are expected to be on the site during these hours and to work at the excavations for a minimum of six weeks (though preferences is given to volunteers who can stay for the whole period). Participants will be provided with living accommodations at no cost during the time they are working for the excavations, along with a modest expense allowance (Euro equivalent of approximately $120 per week).Learn more, click here.
Archaeological Conservation Summer InternshipsApply by December 14, 2026The Agora Excavations Conservation Laboratory offers Internships giving students an opportunity to treat freshly excavated archaeological finds and to participate in an active on-site conservation laboratory. The internship program is planned for eight weeks, 7 June - 30 July, 2027. A modest expense allowance of 150 Euros per week, and a housing allowance of $200 per week (up to $1600 for 8 weeks and upon submission of receipts) will be provided for each intern during their internship.Learn more, click here.
Corinth Excavation ParticipationApply by December 7, 2026The Corinth Excavations of the American School are looking for advanced graduate students to serve as supervisors during the spring 2027 field season. The season is divided into three four-week sessions, each comprising three weeks of excavation and one week of analysis, synthesis, and clean-up. Session I will run from April 4 to April 30; Session II from May 3 to May 28; and Session III from May 30 to June 27. Applicants may request to stay for one or more sessions. Participants will be provided with living accommodations at no cost during the time they are working for the excavations in the two guest houses of the excavation compound, along with complimentary meals 5 days a week.
