In celebration of National TRIO Day 2025, UMBC’s Pre-College TRIO Programs came together for an exciting afternoon of camaraderie, school spirit, and recognition at the UMBC Men’s Basketball game! Middle and high school students from our Upward Bound and Talent Search programs cheered on the Retrievers while connecting with their peers and experiencing the vibrant UMBC community.
A huge thank you to Chartwells, UMBC’s campus catering partner, and Tara Cabot, who went above and beyond to create a menu tailored to our students' tastes. Special appreciation also goes to the UMBC Athletics team, including Seth Nagle, Adriana Mason, and Keelah Dixon, for their efforts in making this experience possible. Their support ensured our students not only enjoyed a fun-filled day but also felt welcomed as part of the Retriever community.
National TRIO Day is all about celebrating access, opportunity, and achievement, and this event highlighted the power of community in supporting our future first-generation college students. What better way to celebrate than coming together as a TRIO family to support UMBC and dream big for the future? Go Retrievers!
