Last Friday, Northrop Grumman hosted a great tour of their mechanical engineering facilities for a group of UMBC students.
During this 5-hour long tour, the students got to explore vibrations and thermodynamics laboratories, product quality testing laboratories, flight test airplanes, and a showcase of real products that have been produced throughout the company's history. The tour also gave attendees the chance to see the automated manufacturing area, see the company's innovation hub known as Tech Underground, and learn a little bit about radar technology.
The tour concluded with networking luncheon during which several managers spoke about job prospects for engineers. Northrop Grumman is strongly partnered with our university; they are looking for engineers with degrees from UMBC! Whether you are looking for a summer internship or looking for a job after graduation, check out the "Student and New Graduates" section of Northrop Grumman's careers website linked below.
A big thank you to all of the Northrop Grumman employees who dedicated a lot of time to setting up the event! And thanks again to all who participated in the tour. We hope that you will attend future tours with ASME!
