Today is our first Assessment 365 event for 2025-2026!
Join us for this month's Assessment 365 presentation as we
dive into a Summer 2025 Orientation Data Project, led by Orientation Peer
Ambassador and student researcher Pontchelaut Kerby Baldomer '27. With input
from more than 2,000 new Retrievers, this project explores how incoming
students define the community they hope to join—and the one they intend to
build together. From themes of being supportive, welcoming, friendly, and
accepting, the findings highlight the powerful role orientation and ongoing
programming play in shaping belonging and well-being at UMBC.
This session will not only unpack key results and their implications for our divisional work, but also spotlight the value of conducting research with students as partners. Dr. Ricky Blissett '11 and Dr. Mary Ellen Wade will discuss considerations and recommendations for how to involve students in assisting with assessment and research projects.
Finally, learn more about the process for sharing your research or assessment work at a future Assessment 365 event!
Assessment 365 is from 1-2pm today on Webex at https://umbc.webex.com/meet/mewade
