Assessment 365 is the free monthly professional development highlighting assessment work from the Division of Student Affairs open to DoSA staff and the entire campus community.
This month, Briana Lawson, Director of Staff Culture and Professional Wellbeing, shared data and information on the Ready to Lead program and its emphasis on a mission-driven leadership culture. Lawson was joined by Ready to Lead program alumni Dan Neeley, Student Affairs Communications and Marketing; Riddhesh Patel, UMBC Transit; Russell Warner, The Commons Facilities and Operations; and Serena Studivant, Off-Campus, Commuter, and Adult Learner Engagement.
Neeley talked about his work with inventory management and how data exposes the need to rethink the current inventory management custodian model. Patel shared data on UMBC transit operations and how that data is informing resource decisions for the department. Through qualitative and quantitative inquiry, Warner shared insights on developing student employees' leadership skills through hands-on training and coaching. Studivant reflected on her leadership journey and personal growth through the Ready to Lead program.
