For the second consecutive year, the UMBC men’s lacrosse team (2-4) opens America East Conference play by taking on the Stony Brook Seawolves (1-5). This year’s contest takes place at UMBC on Sunday, March 18 with an opening face-off slated for noon.
UMBC junior midfielder Billy Nolan scored a career high five goals as the visiting Retrievers upended Stony Brook, 12-9, in the America East opener for both squads last March. UMBC used a 5-0 fourth quarter run to break open a tight game.
UMBC leads the series, 14-9, and snapped a two-game slide to SBU a year ago. The Retrievers have won seven of 12 meetings versus the Seawolves at UMBC Stadium.
