Shaping the future of UMBC's microcredentials
The Microcredential Advisory Committee (MAC) brings together faculty, staff, and campus partners to help shape the future of UMBC's digital credential ecosystem. The MAC's work is organized around three strategic pillars: microcredential design and quality, the earner experience and communication, and employer engagement and economic mobility.
The Employer Engagement & Economic Mobility subcommittee focuses on strengthening the connection between UMBC's microcredentials and meaningful workforce opportunities. The group considers how employers can inform credential design, validate skills and competencies, co-create learning experiences, and make tangible commitments to learners through internships, interviews, hiring, and other opportunities. The subcommittee also explores the broader role of microcredentials in supporting upskilling, reskilling, career transitions, and economic mobility.
