The Biology Council of Majors is hosting a debate on October 7th at 7:30PM in Lecture Hall 1. Amy Payne from the UMBC Department of Philosophy and Kathleen Conlee from the Humane Society are visiting with the bold claim to "Prohibit Animal Testing." Against them in the debate will be UMBC biology graduate students Patrick O'Neill and Aaron Sathyanesan.
According to a 2004 Gallup poll, 62% of Americans believed that medical testing on animals is morally acceptable. I am curious, though, what are the thoughts of UMBC students today? How do you feel about medical testing on animals?
