Hello there, fellow BioCom members!
We have an exciting announcement / reminder for you – this Monday October 25th, Dr. Sandy Eldridge from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) will be joining us to …
§ Talk about her career path
§ Discuss the routine of working in a lab
§ Give advice on finding opportunities & gaining experience
§ Share her perspective on which undergraduate activities are ‘worthwhile’ and which are ‘bogus’
§ AND!!! Potentially recruit some of you as Research Assistant (RA) in her lab!
You should join us if..
§ You are looking for lab experience or an RA position
§ You are unsure of what your professional life will look like after graduation
§ You know your end goal but are unsure of how to get there
§ You are looking to network and build connections in the biology research field
§ You think biology is cool and would love to learn the most current topics under investigation
Again, the meeting will be on Monday, October 25th from 12 pm – 1 pm. If you cannot join synchronously, no worries! The presentation slides and Dr. Eldridge’s information will be shared with all BioCom members after the meeting.
We do encourage synchronous participation, so you can get the most out of this experience and have a chance of having individual question be answered. On that note, we suggest you think of questions beforehand so you feel more prepared for the meeting.
