Overview
The importance of security clearances has become even more apparent due to recent events. Contractors looking to perform work for intelligence agencies, the Department of Defense (DoD), the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Energy (DoE) need guidance in obtaining required clearances and minimizing risk.
This class addresses the three levels of security clearances, information and documents required for application and the investigation process associated with personal and facility (business) clearances. In addition you’ll learn the adjudication and appeals process involved in personal clearances and what can prevent someone from receiving one.
Facility Security Clearance (FCL)
• Review the steps required to obtain a FCL, all FCL levels (top secret, secret and confidential) including required forms

• Discuss investigation processing by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)
• Explain the adjudication process and structure of the DoD Central Adjudication Facilities (CAF)
• Explain the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals (DOHA) adjudication and appeal processes
