MIDC CyberTech 2015 Information Sessions
Tuesday, October 14, 2014 · 2 - 3:30 PM
While Maryland is the “epicenter” of cyber security technology, Israel is on the front line of the cyber security struggle. So the annual Israel CyberTech Conference has become a global meeting place of cyber security buyers, sellers, entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and policy makers.
The Maryland/Israel Development Center (MIDC) will again be leading a trade mission to the CyberTech Conference from March 12th to 19th, 2015. Jeffrey Wells, Director of Cyber Security Development at the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) saw so many new business opportunities at last year’s conference that he plans to go again.
Come to an MIDC CyberTech 2015 Information Session to learn about the conference, trip details, and R&D and travel grants available from the U.S.-Israel Binational R&D (BIRD) Foundation and DBED. BIRD grants support collaborative research between American and Israeli companies. DBED’s ExportMD grants support international trade development by Maryland companies.
The briefings will feature:
Amir Rappaport, Editor in Chief of Israel Defense Magazine, the CyberTech Conference organizer
Barry Bogage, MIDC Director, who represents the BIRD Foundation in Maryland (average BIRD grants exceed $500,000)
Peter Sexton, DBED International Business Development Representative, will discuss ExportMD grants available to Maryland companies exploring new markets.
Two information sessions will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, one each in Baltimore and Rockville:
10:00-11:30 at the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development, 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 800, Rockville MD 20850
2:00-3:30 at Bwtech@ UMBC, the university’s cyber security incubator, 5520 Research Drive, Suite 100, Baltimore, MD.
Please RSVP to Peter Telem at ptelem@marylandisrael.org or 410-984-3567 and let him know which session you will attend.
