HR Management Workshop
Attracting, Keeping & Engaging Employees in Today's Workplac
How many times have we heard the terms, “Great Place to Work” or being an “Employer of Choice?” Doesn’t every company ultimately want to be one of those companies? The best way to make this happen is to create an organization that does things right! Like every other function in your company, there are employment laws, regulations and statutes that must be complied with no matter how small you are. The talented employees you bring into your company must not only be able to “do the job”, must also “fit into your organizational culture.” Finally, we definitely don’t want to find our company written up in the paper for reasons of sexual harassment or discrimination.
bwtech@UMBC will be offering a 5 hour seminar on the fundamentals of Human Resource Management to bwtech@UMBC Incubator companies, facilitated by experienced HR expert and former business executive Al Lichtenstein. The topics to be covered include:
- HR Compliance Issues (with discussion on employment law updates and employee vs. independent contractor dilemma)
- Organizational Development (with discussion on the importance of creating and reinforcing your company culture)
- Talent Acquisition
- Discrimination and Harassment Prevention in the Workplace
