Would a quick tweak help engage learners more effectively?

Your syllabus is ready (or almost ready) for spring. But, would a quick tweak help engage learners more effectively? We know that the syllabus is an important tool, providing your teaching philosophy and course logistics, requirements, and resources, but how can we help students to use it effectively? To make the syllabus more transparent and relevant to students, in this session we will touch on how to create demonstrable student learning outcomes, incorporate inclusive and student-centered language and practices, design aligned assignments, and ensure accessibility for all students. We'll conclude by highlighting activities that can engage students with the syllabus such as a syllabus quiz, tour, outcome reflection, or assignment. We encourage you to bring your own questions and reflections about the syllabus and examples to review in the open discussion.
