Russia and the West: An analysis of Russia’s participation in the 2007 and 2023 Munich Security Conference
On February 17th, Germany will host the 59th annual Munich Security Conference. Due to Putin’s war of aggression in Ukraine, Russian officials have not been invited to this year’s meeting. Rather, opposition leaders Gary Kasparov and Mikhail Khodorkovsky will attend. This seminar places the Munich Security Conference in its historical context, and assesses its impact on Russia and its relation to the west. Participants will also analyze Kasparov and Khodorkovsky’s proposals for Russia after Putin.
