Friday, October 25, 2024 · 8 - 10 PM
The fourth of six events in the Livewire 14: Resounding new music festival features Hub New Music with performances of works by Caterina Calderoni, Rahilia Hasanova, Eleanor Hovda, Sofia Kamayianni, and Nina C. Young. Hub will be joined by guest artist Teodora Adzharova.
Dubbed “contemporary chamber blazers” by The Boston Globe, Hub New Music is a “prime mover of piping hot 21st century repertoire” (The Washington Post). Founded in 2013, Hub has commissioned dozens of new works for its distinct combination of flute, clarinet, violin, and cello. The “nimble quartet of winds and strings” (NPR) actively collaborates with today’s most celebrated composers on projects that traverse today’s richly diverse musical landscape. For over a decade, Hub New Music has grown into an international touring ensemble driven by its dedication to groundbreaking new art. Since its founding in 2013, Hub has commissioned dozens of new works for its distinct combination of flute, clarinet, violin, and cello. The group actively collaborates with today’s most celebrated composers to build a fresh and culturally relevant body of work tailor-made for Hub.
