Heifetz Institute Holiday Concert at UMBC
‘Tis The Season! Join us Sunday afternoon, December 20th at 3:00 p.m. for a very special Heifetz Institute Holiday Concert in the spectacular new Earl and Darielle Linehan Concert Hall, located on the campus of UMBC. the Baltimore-based honors university that is part of the University of Maryland system.
With the generous support of the Dorothy L. and Henry A. Rosenberg Jr. Foundation, this special program features an all-star cast of Heifetz Institute alumni, including violinists Ji-Won Song, Chloé Kiffer, Rachell Wong, and Nikita Borisevich, violist Andrew Gonzalez, cellist Nicholas Mariscal, joined by Heifetz Institute faculty keyboardist Stefan Petrov in a program of Baroque masterworks and music fit for the season.
The first half will feature the beloved “Christmas Concerto” by Arcangelo Corelli, J.S. Bach’s masterful “Double” Concerto in D minor, and cap off with the unique Daniel Heifetz interpretation of Vivaldi’s “Winter” concerto from The Four Seasons.
We’ll have a second half of pure delights….including a charming string quartet arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker suite, and a visit to the British Isles…along with poems, carols, singalongs, stories and more…even including the unforgettable Jascha Heifetz arrangement of “White Christmas”.

All proceeds will benefit the Heifetz Institutes’s 20th Anniversary Shenandoah Scholarship Campaign, with a goal of raising $200,000 in scholarship support for students to next summer’s 20th Anniversary Heifetz International Music Institute, taking place at Mary Baldwin College from June 30 to Aug. 11, 2016.
