Share Your Research and Creative Achievement Ideas with CAHSS!
Research and Creative Achievement Opportunities
Do you have a research or creative achievement project that you would like to pursue but need funding to make it happen?
The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) is inviting faculty to submit brief, two-page proposals outlining research or creative achievement projects for which they would like to seek external funding.
Our goal is to better understand faculty interests and project ideas so that we can proactively identify funding opportunities, connect faculty with potential resources, and support the development of competitive proposals as opportunities arise.
Interested in submitting a project idea?

Looking for guidance? We recently hosted a workshop on developing two-page proposals, featuring faculty examples and practical advice. Watch the recording.
-
Need a funding target? Find details for a large-scale, multi-year funding opportunity due on November 30, 2026.
-
Need examples? Access sample proposals, workshop slides, and budget materials.
You do not need to have a specific funding opportunity identified to submit a proposal. We encourage faculty at all stages of project development to share their ideas.
We look forward to learning more about the exciting research and creative work happening across CAHSS and helping faculty take the next steps toward securing support!
Feel free to reach out to Associate Dean for RCA, Eric Stokan at estokan@umbc.edu with your ideas.
