It's that time of the year when the UMBC Cleftomaniacs are having their auditions for new members for every voice part, as well as vocal percussion (beatboxing)!
If you are interested in auditioning and haven't signed up already, please use the link attached to this post and fill out your name, pronouns, email, the voice part(s) you are auditioning for, as well as which days you are able to attend.
Auditions are currently set to take place this Wednesday (September 14th) and Thursday (September 15th) from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM both days. Materials required by auditionees are simply a verse and chorus of any song, memorized. You will not have an accompaniment or backtrack, as we want to hear your awesome voices. Materials for beatboxers will simply be a short, prepared routine to show off what you are able to do.
The location for auditions is currently set in the Fine Arts building. On Wednesday, auditions will be in FA 006, with the waiting room for auditionees in FA 014. On Thursday, auditions will be in FA 306 with auditions in FA 303. This location is unfortunately subject to change; however, any changes that do take place will be updated to those auditioning via email, Instagram, and this myUMBC post.
If you cannot make it to either day of in-person auditions due to illness or conflicts in time but still want to audition, please send a video to umbc.cleftos@gmail.com introducing yourself, introducing your song, and singing one verse and chorus (without a backtrack) by 10 PM on Thursday, September 15th.
