Hey everyone!
We hope this message finds you well. Our tenth meeting will be this Wednesday (11/17) at 7 PM, in Public Policy (PUP) room 208 as always, with the caveat that the location can change depending on safety concerns. This week we'll have a discussion on how to improve education, most specifically regarding a) how to deal with Critical Race Theory, and b) how to stop free speech abuses on campus, along with the interaction of both of these topics! Also during this meeting will be some reflection on Change My Mind, Change My Mind's next topic for the Spring, future speakers, etc.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We will not have a meeting on the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving (the 24th of November), however meetings will resume on December 1st.
Change My Mind: Final reminder that Change My Mind is tomorrow, November 16th, from 10 AM to 2 PM in Erickson field off Center Road! We're looking at upwards of five volunteer speakers whose minds are to be changed, and we invite any passersby to have a discussion with one of our volunteers about the state of our great country.
Jury Nullification educational event: College Republicans will be hosting an educational event regarding Jury Nullification on December 1st, times still to be determined. We hope to have a table in the commons if possible, although location is also subject to change. More details as we get closer to this event!
College Republicans outing @ Round1 arcade: As suggested, some College Republicans will be going out to visit Round1 in Towson to have a fun time together! We recommend those who'd like to go bring about $50 for food and games and all else one might wish to do, such as Karaoke and Bowling. If you're concerned about being able to pay, email us as soon as possible and we might be able to help cover your costs. Funds limited. The event itself will be at the Towson location: 825 Dulaney Valley Rd, Towson, MD 21204, USA. This shall occur within the first week of December, however the exact date and time are subject to polling within our GroupMe. We'll announce those when we have those results!
T-shirts: No further news at present, but we'll update when we have more info!
As always, we encourage those who have not yet done so to follow our myUMBC page, join our Discord, and join our GroupMe, since we don’t use Webex Teams much. Direct links are below:
