Hey everyone!
Welcome back from Thanksgiving break. Our eleventh and penultimate meeting will be this Wednesday (12/01) at 7 PM, in Public Policy (PUP) room 208 as always, with the caveat that the location can change depending on safety concerns. This meeting we shall have our final debate, this time on the death penalty!
Christmas Family Adoption: In collaboration with Students For Life, we encourage all College Republicans to help out with a Christmas Family Adoption sponsored by both clubs. Essentially, there's one family where we're hoping to donate Christmas gifts for, and if you're feeling charitable this holiday season, you can donate a gift from this list. Follow the instructions to deliver the gifts and indicate what you have bought in this Google Document (you may have to request edit access after you've purchased the gift) if you'd like to give! If you have any questions, email the Students For Life president at neylas1@umbc.edu or else reach out to the College Republicans secretary.
Free Expression at UMBC? Be sure to attend our final meeting of the year on December 8th, same time and location! Professor Emeritus George La Noue will be speaking during this general body meeting regarding free speech, and we'll also be announcing some preliminary Spring 2022 plans there before closing out the year!
T-shirts: We should be able to have these for those who requested them, during our final meeting on the 8th!
Round1 arcade: Final reminder that this coming Friday, December 3rd, some CRs will be heading out to Round1 arcade in Towson, starting at 6 PM. We recommend bringing $50 if you want to do most of everything, including Karaoke, bowling, the arcade itself, and food. Please let us know via our GroupMe poll if you are attending or not! Address: 825 Dulaney Valley Rd, Towson, MD 21204.
Jury Nullification educational event: This educational event is on December 8th, 2 PM-5 PM, tabled in Erickson Field along Center Road. We're in the process of making pamphlets to give out, and additionally, on December 7th we'd like to meet briefly in the library to prepare for the event. Exact time will be announced next week.
As always, we encourage those who have not yet done so to follow our myUMBC page, join our Discord, and join our GroupMe, since we don’t use Webex Teams much. Direct links are below:
