Whether it is your first semester, or soon-to-be your last, how you intend to complete your degree is always on the mind. With our new Degree Planner tool, you can work with your advisor to answer the million-dollar question, “When do I plan to graduate?”
What is the Degree Planner?
The Degree Planner helps you plan courses toward graduation by allowing you to designate courses you plan to take in future terms. Once you’ve added courses to your planner, the proposed courses will show up as “planned” in your Degree Donut. The goal is to get your donut to 100% to ensure that you have the best estimate of when you plan to complete your degree.
Where is my Degree Planner?
You can access your Degree Planner by taking the following steps:
1) Log into myUMBC
2) Click on your Degree Donut
3) Click on Plan
How do I use the Degree Planner?
The Degree Planner does not replace the official degree audit or meeting with your advisor, and is not a guarantee of degree completion. To make the most out of this tool, share your Degree Planner with your academic advisor each semester to discuss your goals, and make changes, as needed.
There are several important reasons to review your degree planner each semester including but not limited to your decision to:
- change majors/add minors,
- make plans to study abroad or complete an internship
- take classes at another institution
Either way, you want to ensure that you work closely with your advisor to discuss updates.
Where do I go for More Information?

Happy planning!
