Crafting Our Stories: Pieces of Us
An interactive linocut art and dialogue experience
What makes you you? Join us for Pieces of Us, an interactive art and dialogue experience where personal identity, cultural storytelling, and community come together through the art of linocut printing. Participants will create their own linocut stamp featuring an illustration that represents their cultural upbringing, personal and social identities, values, or life experiences that have shaped who they are today. Through guided reflection and meaningful dialogue, participants will have the opportunity to explore the stories behind their designs, share their lived experiences, and learn from the diverse perspectives and identities of others.
But the experience doesn’t end with individual expression! Together, students will bring their unique designs to one collective poster, connecting each individual stamp into a shared legacy project that reflects the community we have built together. Each piece will contribute to a larger story—one that honors our differences, celebrates our shared humanity, and recognizes the knowledge and experiences every person brings to our community.
Whether you’re an experienced artist or picking up a carving tool for the first time, you are welcome here. No artistic experience is necessary—just a willingness to reflect, create, listen, and connect. Participants will also receive a digital copy of the completed legacy project as a lasting reminder of the stories shared and the community created together.
Come make your mark, share your perspective, and be a part of our collective legacy!
