FAQs
Why use a digital business card?
The cards eliminate the need to carry stacks of paper cards with you or to give out the one or two spares hiding in your wallet. The new cards allow you to share all your information with someone with a quick tap of the card or picture of the code. All the information is then instantly available on their phone. A digital business card makes it easier to share information than the traditional business card.
How long will this new card last?
A single card is rated to survive about 100,000 taps and
retain data for at least 10 years. Usually that lifespan is much longer in
normal usage.
Are these cards actually environmentally sustainable?
The cards are made with recycled copper and PVC. A 2015 study found that digital business cards have a smaller overall impact on the environment than traditional paper cards. The study found that paper cards require almost 10 times more raw materials than digital ones and overall paper cards have a 30 times higher impact on the environment!
How are cards disposed of at the end of the lifecycle?
The cards are designed to for maximum usefulness. Cards can be returned to department’s administrators and assigned to other employees associate. All of this is accomplished through a simple app interface, and no NFC encoding tools are needed. If a card is damaged or too worn out for reuse they can placed into the recycling bin.
What phones work with this card?
NFC tapping works on most Android Phones and all iPhone models introduced in 2019 or later. Older iPhone models can still tap but require the use of an app to do so.
QR codes can be scanned via the camera app of all iPhones and most Android phones. There are also apps that can be downloaded to scan QR codes if the camera does not provide this functionality on an Android device.
Are these new cards cost effective?
Yes! Digital business cards are nearly 75% less per employee than the minimum order of traditional business cards.
