Gloria Chuku received the distinguished Ali Mazrui Award for Scholarship and Research Excellence at the 2017 Toyin Falola Annual Conference on Africa and the African Diaspora. The award was conferred by the TOFAC Board of Directors and featured on Ondo State Television. Dr. Chuku chaired a panel on "Indigenous Education and Knowledge Systems" and presented a paper, "Formal Education and Women's Agency in Colonial Africa: A Historical Survey," at the international conference.
