Important information not mentioned in the job posting but is crucial:
1. Students should enter the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis (DERA) as their first-choice placement for consideration. My division only focuses on those who select us as first choice, since enough applicants do so for us to fill our slots with qualified candidates.
2. Students in Financial Economics, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Math, and Political Science are encouraged to apply. Any students in programs that emphasize data analysis and who have an interest in public policy are also encouraged to apply.
3. Juniors are encouraged to apply as we tend to focus on those applicants when available.
4. Students should emphasize in their cover letter why they are interested in the SEC, our division, finance, and policy making in general.
5. Students should emphasize on their resumes any research or data analysis experience they have. Any competency with programming languages and analytical tools is a plus.
