Intellectual Property 101
The team at the Alex. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ABCEI) is excited to host our upcoming Workshop next Wednesday afternoon, November 2nd from 12-1pm in Commons 331.
This event will feature Robin Hylton, who is the Assistant Outreach Coordinator at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. During her presentation titled, Intellectual Property 101, Robin will discuss intellectual property (IP) basics and potential ways to protect your innovations as you transition from idea to product.
This session will cover:
- What is the USPTO?
- An overview of intellectual property types: patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets
- Why innovators and entrepreneurs should consider protecting their IP
- How to get started in protecting your intellectual property
