Testing
We are aware that there has been some confusion about who should test in January. All employees are required to test in January or when you first return to campus – even if you worked throughout the winter break. PCR tests are readily available at the Center for Well-Being, UC and Campus Police Department. Please share this information broadly with other individuals in your departments; we recognize that the previous shortage of tests at sites created some confusion and frustration, the sites were restocked within an hour. Boosting
UMBC requires everyone in the community to receive a booster shot or have an approved exemption. Our goal is always to increase the safety of our campus and hope that increasing numbers of boostered community members will help us make a positive impact. There have been a few issues with CRISP uploading booster information - currently it is approximately 90% accurate. Should you have issues, please upload your information.
You can report your booster using the forms on this page. We strongly encourage all in our community to sign up for CRISP, our regional health exchange, so that we can automatically receive your COVID-19 vaccination and booster data.
Booster vaccinations are also available on-campus, by appointment only, on the following scheduled dates
All employees with approved medical and religious exemptions must continue to comply with health and safety requirements and will receive separate instructions. Exemption information can be found here.
Masking
All community members are currently required to wear a KN95 or equivalent mask indoors in public spaces at UMBC. Departments wishing to request a supply of masks must call Facilities Management Work Control at 410-455-2550 to arrange a time to pick up masks.
KN95 masks are also available during business hours at the following locations:
- The Police Station front counter
- Campus Card and Dining Services
- Retriever Activities Center
- The Commons Information Center
- Albin O. Kuhn Library Circulation Desk
- You can wear a KN95 mask multiple times. More information on proper use of KN95 masks is available here. The university makes every effort to procure approved (i.e. not counterfeit) masks using a variety of standards.
