Hello Mentees & Mentors,

We hope everyone is having a great start to the fall semester!

We wanted to share some exciting updates on behalf of the ESS Mentoring Program:

Fall ESS Mentoring Events:

STAY TUNED! - The Mentoring Committee is planning to reach out to a Campus partner to see if anyone is amenable to present on a topic beneficial for the Mentoring Program.

Upcoming Campus Events:

Professional Development Week is upcoming the week of Sept. 14th. Peruse the site and take advantage of the opportunities. We’d love to hear your feedback from the session(s) you participate in.
Culture Builders Keynote - Building Beloved Community - This is an opportunity from our colleagues in the Division of Institutional Equity (DOIE).
Attend Homecoming together which is the week of October 31, 2026! Be on the lookout for updates on the Homecoming website.

Creative Mentoring Ideas:

Consider the following suggestions when you meet up with your mentee/mentor.

Take your meeting for a walk (outdoors or on the RAC track)
Meet at Oca Mocha in Arbutus
Walk across the bridge/by the pond to bwTech and enjoy lunch at Subway
Meet in the campus rock garden
Not at the same campus with your mentee/mentor? Set up a virtual meeting between the 2 of you, have coffee/tea/lunch and talk.
