With the support of a four-year, $4 million Research Evaluation and Commercialization Hubs (REACH) grant from the National Institutes of Health, the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) will advance the life science economy in West Baltimore and Greater Baltimore and accelerate the development of the biomedical and innovation workforce in Baltimore.

The second cohort of UM-BILD Accelerator Awardees will be announced in April.

Applications for the UM-BILD Accelerator will open in August 2025
for the September 2025 funding cycle (Cohort 3).

Baltimore: A Life Science Hotbed

UM-BILD is working to make Baltimore the next destination for the life science and biotechnology industry. An incubator and investment opportunities will advance innovative technologies and spur the creation of startups, while workforce development and training programs will create a highly-skilled workforce.
