UMBC takes pride in its' ability to attract and support first-generation college students. The University recognizes first-generation college students as those whose parents did not complete a baccalaureate degree. We understand that definition doesn’t capture every student’s experience. Therefore, students who feel they share similar experiences to first-generation college students or are looking for a place to build community and support that will help you integrate to the UMBC community are more than welcome at our events.
All events, groups, organizations, and centers are open for full participation by all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected category under applicable federal law, state law, and the University's nondiscrimination policy.
