The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is committed to accomplishing the following missions:
To support, promote, and represent all graduate students at UMBC.
To serve as a platform for discussions and recommendations on matters related to the well-being of graduate students at UMBC.
To create opportunities for intellectual, professional, and social development through grants, public presentations of research, graduate community events, and campus service support.
GSA's organizational structure consists of 16 senators, the e-council, and five standing committees. The Senate comprises four senators from each college (CNMS, COEIT, CAHSS) and an additional four senators representing the graduate student population at large. The e-council includes the president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and senate speaker, in addition to the chairs of the five standing committees. These committees are:
