The application for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) Dean's Scholarship for Study Abroad for Winter 2025, Spring 2025 and Summer 2025 programs is now open!
The Dean's Office of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) has pledged $100,000 annually for the next four years, totaling $400,000, to support study abroad scholarships. This scholarship program is specifically geared towards students who, due to financial circumstances, may not consider study abroad as a viable financial possibility.Awards typically range from $2,500-$5,000 to help offset costs associated with studying abroad.
Applications are due on September 10, 2024. You can find the scholarship application on UMBC's Scholarship Retriever at <https://scholarships.umbc.edu>
Applicants:
- must be degree-seeking UMBC undergraduate or graduate students;
- must have at least one major in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences;
- must meet all eligibility criteria to participate in UMBC study abroad programs.

- applying for a UMBC faculty-led study abroad program or bilateral tuition exchange program or a UMBC ISEP program.
- who might not otherwise study abroad
- demonstrating financial need by means of a submitted FAFSA form or a narrative that demonstrates financial need not shown through a federal financial aid application.
Applications for study on the UMBC campus will not be considered.
