URAs provide up to $1,500 to undergraduate students to support their research, scholarship, or creative work with a UMBC faculty mentor. UMBC students of all years and disciplines are invited to apply, as long as you are enrolled at UMBC long enough to complete the proposed work. Eligible students are degree-seeking undergraduates who plan to conduct mentored research or creative work between June 2019 – May 2020.
The URA may be used to support work being done as part of a capstone project, honors thesis, ongoing lab, scholars program, art exhibit or performance, or independent project. Funds can be used for supplies, research-related travel, participant incentives, or as a living stipend.Applications are now open and are due by May1, 2019!
