Field Trip: National Museum of American History

You're invited!

Join us on a field trip to the Smithsonian to learn from Dr. Theo Gonzalves, curator of Asian Pacific American History at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History (NMAH). 

We will be able to go behind the scenes at NMAH to think critically about how Asian and Asian American culture has been interpreted, archived, and collected at the museum. The field trip is funded by the Global Asias Initiative Mellon Grant. 

Lunch and transportation provided free of charge! We will send final details to all participants about a week prior to the field trip.

Event Timing: Friday, November 8, 2024 

10am-5pm
(10am is when you will meet on campus if you are taking the shuttle, 4pm is when the shuttle will leave DC to return to UMBC)
