On January 27, 2025, in collaboration with Dr.Houbing Herbert Songof UMBC’s SONG Lab, our Global Partnerships Team hosted representatives fromCardiff Metropolitan University’s School of Technologies in Wales, UK. As part of theGlobal WalesPartnership Fund, the delegation included Dr.Chaminda Thushara Hewage(Associate Dean of Research) and Dr. @Rajkumar Singh Rathore (Senior Lecturer & Programme Director MSc Computing and IT).

We were also joined by visiting scholar-researchers from Brazil under the auspices of the CAPES Foundation: Dr.Pedro PedrosaRebouças Filho (Research Scholar at UMBC's SONG Lab, Professor, and Head of Research atLAPISCO - IFCE) and Dr. Elizângela de Souza Rebouças (Professor at the IFCE Federal Institute of Ceará and LAPISCO Researcher).
Highlights:
- Explored funding opportunities for scoping research and innovation.
- Discussed partnership areas in international student exchanges, summer programs, internships, faculty-led programs, and research collaborations.
