With so many new members, we wanted to post a little about who we are! We are so thankful for everyone who has joined the club and appreciate all those who have reached out individually to offer help. We need student help as well as support from staff and community members. As you may know, we are in the process of working with the school to become an official student organization! This is exciting for us and means we will be able to host many more activities and events. We will keep everyone updated throughout the process.
A little about us: We believe that in a perfect world there would be no stray cats on campus or in our communities. In the meantime, GK wants to help these cats. We have been able to connect adoptable strays with rescue organizations that can place them in good homes, and we plan to continue this. We also want to educate students about Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR). TNR ensures that the non-adoptable cats can live their lives without reproducing. We want to educate students about TNR and cat related issues, while providing a fun and safe place to meet fellow animal lovers. Along with helping our campus, we want to encourage students to help their communities. Many shelters need volunteers, including people to foster and help socialize the cats. Students should also feel free to contact us for any advice about strays or potential rescues in their home communities. If anyone has any questions, feel free to reach out to our board members or myself. We are happy to help!
