Explore the UMBC Observatory with a rotation of family-friendly physics and astronomy demonstrations. Come to Physics Room 401 to learn about the nature of light and how we capture light from distant stars, nebulas, and galaxies!
Attendees will be able to rotate through short demonstrations of diffraction, polarization, and spectroscopy as well as be able to tour the control room and dome of the famous UMBC Observatory -- the largest optical telescope on the east coast!
Timing: Full rotation of demonstrations run 30 minutes, each demonstration or tour lasting around 5-7 minutes.
