The Center for Scalable Data and Computational Science (ScaleS), in collaboration with UMBC DoIT Research Computing & Data Team, is happy to announce a five-part tutorial series designed for new and experienced researchers who are looking to explore the use of high-performance clusters in their research workflows.
Each tutorial is delivered in a “flipped-classroom” style where tutorial content is made available via Blackboard ahead of the classroom session. The classroom session is then dedicated to a brief review, Q&A, and then a hands-on activity that demonstrates mastery of the tutorial content.
This tutorial series is open to the entire UMBC community. In order to get the most from these tutorials, participants should be familiar with basic Python or C++ and have some familiarity with ideas in machine learning. Starting from scratch is also fine; curiosity and dedication to the process are key!
Below are each of the tutorials. Keep in mind that registration is due about one week before the event, so that content may be delivered to all participants in the flipped-classroom style described above.
In order to register for each tutorial, you must RSVP via the myUMBC HPCF event posting associated with that tutorial. Please be sure to follow the myUMBC HPCF Group for additional information and future training series. Be sure to bring your laptops!
