Dear UMBC Community,
As we enter flu season, UMBC is committed to keeping our community safe, healthy, and informed. An influenza vaccine is an important step in keeping yourself and others well. It will also help reduce the number of preventable hospitalizations related to flu, which will, in turn, support our nation’s medical community in ensuring that persons impacted by COVID-19 receive adequate and timely medical care.
Retriever Integrated Health is partnering with Safeway pharmacy on a campus flu vaccination and COVID-19 Pfizer booster clinic on October 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the newly renovated Retriever Activities Center. The COVID-19 Pfizer booster is now available for those who are eligible. You may get both the flu vaccine and the booster at the same time.
Vaccines may also be available at local pharmacies (please call ahead to check) or from your primary care doctor.
Please remember to take steps to prevent the spread of cold and flu as well as to reduce the risk of COVID-19 in our community and beyond:
Get a flu shot. Get a COVID-19 booster when you are eligible.
Stay home if you are sick! Do not come to campus.
Remember to wear your mask properly.
Masks are required inside all campus buildings.
If you remove your mask to eat or drink, please put it back on when you are finished.
Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds and/or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizing stations are located around campus.
For additional information about protecting yourself and others from COVID-19, visit the CDC COVID-19 website.
Retriever Integrated Health is here to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact us at 410-455-2542 for more information.
Thank you for helping to keep our community healthy.
