As a part of ongoing campus improvements, significant portions of Hilltop Circle, Hilltop road, Poplar Avenue, and Park Road will be repaved during the remainder of the summer. The project begins today, July 11 with the replacement of storm water drains along Hillltop Circle. Paving work on Hilltop Circle from Administration Drive to Poplar Avenue will begin July 18 and progress per the schedule outlined in the attached Paving Construction Scheduling Map. All paving work is anticipated to be completed by August 19.
While we do not expect extended closures, traffic patterns will be revised while the work is completed between July 11 and August 19 with intermittent closures. The entrance to some parking lots may be closed briefly during the paving process. Parking lot disruptions and closures will be communicated via Facilities Management on myUMBC a week prior to the scheduled work.
When traveling through campus while the paving work is on-going, vehicles should follow detour signs and direction from paving personnel.
Accessibility is part of the design process, and we work in partnership with Accessibility and Disability Services which supports faculty, staff, students and visitors with disabilities. If you have a concern about accessibility or want to inquire about a disability-based accommodation, please do so through their website.
Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain and enhance the UMBC campus.
